국문 초록

본 논문은 인간의 초월성에 대하여 신학적으로 고찰하는 것을 그 목적으로 삼는다. 이 목적을 위하여 가톨릭교회의 신학자 칼 라너(Karl Rahner, 1904-1984)의 신학적 체계와 개념들이 사용되었다. 본 논문은 인간의 초월성에 대한 칼 라너의 다양한 관점을 소개한다. 초월에는 두 가지 역동적인 면이 있는 것으로 드러난다. 인간학적인 차원에서 본다면 하느님을 향하는 인간의 정신적 초월 운동이 그 하나요, 이러한 초월 운동이 가능하도록 하는 하느님의 은총이 다른 하나이다. 후자는 인간의 초월 운동의 가능성의 조건이라고 말 할 수 있다. 라너의 신학에는 ‘아래에서 위로 향하는’(von unten nach oben) 운동과 ‘위로부터 아래로 향하는’(von oben nach unten) 운동이 내적으로 긴밀히 결합되어 있다. 인간은 초월을 통하여 자신이 무한한 지평과 조우하고 있음을 인식하고, 그와 동시에 자신이 자유로운 존재임을 알게 된다. 초월 체험은 인간이 주체이자 인격이라는 것을 알려주는 것이다. 인간은 자기 인식을 바탕으로 역사 내에서 자기실현을 하고자 한다. 라너의 초월성은 따라서 범주성과 분리된 정적인 것이 아니라 오히려 범주성과 밀접히 연관된 역동적인 것으로 드러난다. 하느님은 인간에게 유사형상인의 역할을 하여 인간이 초자연적으로 변화할 수 있는 가능성을 제공하며, 인간은 순명적 가능태로서 이 은총을 수용할 수 있는 능력을 지닌 존재로 이해된다. 이러한 면에서 하느님은 인간에게 이미 창조되지 않은 은총을 베풀었다고 할 수 있으며, 모든 인간은 하느님으로부터 지복직관에로 불렸다고 할수 있다. 역사 내에서 인간은 이러한 소명을 사랑의 구체적인 형태로 실현하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to consider the transcendentality of the human being in the light of the theological system and concepts of Karl Rahner (1904-1984), an important theologian of the Catholic Church. The various perspectives of Karl Rahner on the transcendentality of the human being are introduced in this paper. The concept of transcendence has the two dynamic dimensions. The first one is anthropological: the spiritual transcendent movement of human beings toward God. The second is the movement of God’s grace toward human beings, which is the condition for the possibility of the transcendent movement toward God. The movement ‘from below toward up’(von unten nach oben) and the movement ‘from up toward below’(von oben nach unten) are coupled inseparably in Rahner's theology. Human beings recognize through the transcendent experience that they encounter with the infinite, and they come to know they are free. Transcendental experience makes human beings know that they are subjects and persons. On the basis of the self-awareness they try to realize themselves in their historical situation. The concept of transcendence in Rahner’s understanding is not a static reality in a separated category; it is dynamic and closely related to the whole of human experience. God is in Rahner’s understanding the quasi-formal cause of human beings. God gives them the possibility to be changed, grow and mature. Human beings, meanwhile, are understood as the ‘potentia oboedientialis’ through which they have the possibility to accept the grace of God. From this perspective we can say that God gives human beings grace and that everyone is called to ‘visio beatifica’. Human beings respond to the calling by exercising a concrete form of love in a particular historical situation.
