독일에서 전일제학교(Ganztagsschule)의 발달과 2000년 이후의 활성화 배경

국문 초록

  본 연구는 오늘날 독일의 정규학교로 정착되어 있는 반일제학교가 어떤 이유에서 시작되었는지, 그리고 2000년 이후 독일 내에서 전일제학교에 대한 관심이 증가하게 된 배경을 살펴보고, 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 초등교육에서 반일제학교의 등장은 의무교육을 정착시킬 수 있는 방안으로, 중등교육에서 반일제학교의 등장은 학생의 건강에 대한 염려와 관련이 있으며, 초등교육과 중등교육에서의 반일제학교 등장에는 공통적으로 가정과 학교의 역할분담에 대한 인식이 반영되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 2000년 이후 전일제학교에 대한 관심이 증가하게 된 이유로는 PISA연구의 결과, 사회적변화에 따른 교육개념의 확대해석, 8년제 김나지움의 도입, 가정적 기능의 학교 수용에 대한 요구증가 등이 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 시사점으로는 학교에서 가정 역할 수용에 대한 지원 필요, 수업위주의 전일제학교에 대한 반성적 검토, PISA결과에 대한 원인분석 필요, 학생들의 돌봄을 담당하는 학교 전문 인력의 상주 시스템 도입, 학교와 학교 밖의 아동·청소년지원기관과의 협조적인 관계의 강화를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

  This study tried to make some suggestions to Korean education by examining the historical background of part-time school and an increment of interests on full-time school after 2000 in Germany. Part-time school, in Germany, had been launched to anchor compulsory education on primary school system and to promote students" health in secondary school. The appearance of part-time school both in primary and secondary school in Germany had relation to taking share of roles of school and home. It seemed that deep concern about full-time school came from the followings: research results of PISA(Program for international student assessment), broad interpretation of the meaning of ‘education’, introduction of 8-years secondary school system(Gymnasium), and needs increment to family functions of school. In conclusion, this study suggested that Korean education reflect on : 1) political and financial supports to school"s family role, 2) critical reviews of full-time school mainly concentrated on instruction, 3) scrutinies into causal relations of Korean students" academic achievement on the basis of PISA reports, 4) an establishment of full-time office with experts on student-caring, and 5) a strengthening of partnership between school and institute for child and youth support.
