국문 초록

  Araneus ventricosus의 원형그물집 분석을 위해 Lee et al(2006)은 타원식과 선형회귀 방정식을 이용해 원형그물의 나선거미줄과 방사선거미줄을 위한 수학식을 유도했다. 여기서 그 수학식이 Argiope ( A. bruennichi) 속의 거미 그물집을 분석하는데적용될 수 있는지를 조사했다. 총 48개의 방사선 거미줄에 대한 방정식들 중 1개만 제외하고 모두 80% 이상인 결정계수( R<SUP>2</SUP>)을 보였다. 5번째 위치의 나선 거미줄이 나선과 방사선 거미줄의 상호 교차점 좌표를 이용한 방정식에 근거해 재구성되었는데, 이 재구성된 나선 거미줄은 실재 그물집의 5번째 나선실의 좌표와 비교했을 때 통계적으로 중요한 차이가 없었다(x, y-좌표 각각에 대해 P ＞ 0.05). 이러한 결과들은 Lee et al(2006) 등이 유도한 수학 방정식이 A. bruennichi의 원형그물집 분석에도 잘 적용될 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

영문 초록

  For the orb-web analysis of Araneus ventricosus, Lee et al. (2006) developed mathematical formulae for orb-web spirals and radials from the ellipse and the linear regression equation. We tested whether these formulae could also be applied to analyze the orb-web within the genus Argiope (A. bruennichi). The equations for the 48 radials had coefficients of determination (R<SUP>2</SUP>) higher than 80% with the exception of only one radial equation. The spiral in the 5th position was reconstructed based on the intersection coordinates between the spiral and the radial equations. When the reconstructed spiral was compared with the corresponding spiral in the real webs, the coordinates of the two spirals did not differ significantly (Paired t-test; P ＞ 0.05 between xcoordinates; P ＞ 0.05 between y-coordinates). Our results showed that radials and spirals in the orb-web of A. bruennichi could be accurately expressed mathematically with the equations derived by Lee et al. (2006). This may indicate that the radial and the spiral equations could be used widely for the analysis of webs of orb-weaving spiders.
