수학 학업성취도 수직 척도화 결과의 성별에 따른 집단 불변성 검증

국문 초록

  동등화(혹은 연계화) 점수 변환은 어떤 집단의 자료를 이용하던지 사용된 집단에 관계없이 동일해야 한다는 집단 불변성의 조건을 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 연계화의 일종인 수직 척도화 결과는 집단 종속성 가능성이 높다는 전제하에, 2005년 실시된 수학검사의 자료를 이용하여 총 5회의 수직 척도화를 수행하고 그 결과가 성별에 따른 집단 불변성을 가지고 있는지를 검증하였다.
  전체적으로 성별에 따른 집단 불변성은 상당 정도 충족되어진 것으로 나타났으며, 집단불변성 충족의 가능 요인으로 검사 내용의 일관성, 검사 간 동일한 신뢰도, 비슷한 남녀 집단별 평균이 제시되었다. 초등학교 5학년과 6학년간의 수직 척도화 결과는 집단 불변성이 가장 약한 것으로 나타났으며, 이에 따라 초등학교 5학년과 6학년의 점수를 비교하여 의사결정을 내릴 때는 성별에 따라 수직 척도화 변환식이 달라질 가능성이 있음을 지적했다.

영문 초록

  When equating methods are applied to tests that are built using different content and statistical specifications, the resulting scores cannot be used interchangeably. In this study, a conception of linking and vertical scaling was given; concept of population invariance in equating and linking conditions was explained; methods to detect and measure population invariance were introduced; Mathematics test scores from elementary and middle school students were linked through Tucker linear equating method; and difference in results from gender subgroups was analyzed and compared.
  Followings were found: in general vertical scaling relationships for Mathematics achievement tests were not gender subgroup dependent, however, the vertical scaling relationship between elementary 5th and 6th grade students was somewhat gender group dependent. And it was recommended for further research to analyze test contents and curriculum for elementary 5th and 6th grades to find possible causes for gender subgroup dependence.
