학교현장실습학기제에 대한 사범대학 학생들의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 학교현장실습학기제 시범운영 참여에 앞서 사범대학 학생들을 대상으로 시행한 수요조사 설문 결과를 분석하였다. 전체 학생 중 49.3%는 실습학기제 참여 의사가 있으며, 50.7%는 참여 의사가 없었다. 실습학기제에 참여하려는 이유로는 교직 적성 확인이 35.6%로 가장 높은 비율을 보였으며, 다음으로 학교 및 학생 이해 부분이 30.8%로 나타났으며 임용고사 준비, 교수법 전문성 신장 부분은 상대적으로 낮게 나타났다. 비참여 이유로 임용고사 준비 부족(29.9%), 전공학습부담(27.1%), 기존 4주가 적당(27.1%)로 비슷하게 나타났다. 운영 기간을 15주, 13주, 9주로 나누어 질문한 결과 학생들이 가장 선호하는 기간은 9주로 46%를 차지하였다. 실습학기제 참여시 지원을 바라는 부분은 재정적 지원(26.6%), 학점 추가 인정(24.2%), 실습 전, 후 교육 및 실습 중 멘토링 강화(23.7%), 임용고사 가산점 부여(17.4%) 순으로 나타났다. 예비교사들의 인식을 바탕으로 실습학기제 운영에 대한 제언을 하고자 한다. 첫째, 모든 학생을 대상으로 실습학기제를 전면 시행하는 것이 타당한지에 대한 논의가 필요하다. 둘째, 참여 의사를 밝힌 학생의 수와 실제 참여자 수의 큰 차이가 있었다. 학생 참여를 유도할 수 있는 방안이나 보상이 마련되어야 하겠다. 셋째, 실습 전과 후에 실시되는 교육, 실습 중 멘토링 및 코칭 부분에 대한 보다 체계적인 지도가 필요하다. 넷째, 실습 기간의 확대도 필요하지만 체계적인 교육계획이 더욱 중요하다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the results of a demand survey conducted among students of the College of Education prior to their participation in a pilot program for the semester-long teaching practicum. Among all the students surveyed, 49.3% expressed their willingness to participate in the practicum, while 50.7% were unwilling to participate. The most common reason for wanting to participate was to confirm their aptitude for teaching, cited by 35.6% of respondents. This was followed by a desire to better understand schools and students, at 30.8%. In contrast, reasons such as preparing for the teacher certification exam and enhancing teaching expertise were less frequently mentioned. The main reasons for not participating were a lack of preparation for the teacher certification exam(29.9%), the burden of major coursework(27.1%), and the belief that the existing four-week practicum was sufficient(27.1%). Based on the results of study, we propose some recommendations for the operation of the semester-long teaching practicum. First, it is necessary to discuss whether it is appropriate to implement the practicum for all students. Second, there was a significant gap between the number of students who expressed a willingness to participate and those who actually participated, indicating a need for incentives to encourage participation. Third, more systematic guidance is required for the education provided before and after the practicum, as well as for mentoring and coaching during the practicum. Finally, while extending the practicum period is important, it is even more crucial to establish a comprehensive educational plan.
