중급 상담자의 상담과정에서의 진정성 경험에 관한 합의적 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 중급 상담자가 경험하는 진정성에 대해 알아보고자 10명의 중급상담자를 심층면접하였으며, 자료는 합의적 질적 연구법(Consensual Qualitative Research)을 통해 총 6개의 영역과 20개의 하위영역, 65개의 범주가 도출되었다. 첫째, 상담자는 진정성을 상담자의 느낌과 생각을 진실되게 내담자의 상태를 고려하여 전달하는 것으로 보았다. 둘째, 진정성이 잘 발현될 수 있었던 경험은 상담자가 솔직한 감정과 생각을 표현할 수 있을 때였고, 셋째, 진정성 경험 후 상담 관계는 친밀감과 신뢰가 증진되었고 내담자의 긍정적 변화가 나타났다. 넷째, 진정성이 잘 발현되지 않는 순간은 내담자가 방어적이거나, 상담자의 전문성 부족할 때였으며, 다섯째, 진정성 경험이 어려우면 상담이 피상적이면서 내담자의 변화가 일어나지 않았다. 여섯째, 진정성 경험 후, 상담자로서의 성장을 경험했으며, 진정성의 자연스러운 표현이 가능해졌다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 시사점과 제한점을 논의했다.

영문 초록

In this study, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 middle-level counselors to find out the authenticity experienced by intermediate counselors, and a total of 6 areas, 20 categories, and 65 subcategories were derived through CQR. First, the counselor saw authenticity as conveying the counselor's feelings and thoughts truthfully considering the client's condition. Second, the experience that authenticity could be expressed well was when the counselor could express honest feelings and thoughts. Third, after experiencing authenticity, intimacy and trust were enhanced in the counseling relationship, and positive changes were shown in the client. Fourth, authenticity was not well expressed was when the client was defensive or the counselor lacked professionalism. Fifth, if the authentic experience was challenging, the counseling was superficial and the client did not change. Sixth, after experiencing authenticity, counselors experienced growth, and natural expression of authenticity became possible. The implications and limitations were discussed.
