직업계고등학교 교원의 직업교육 혁신에 대한 인식 및 요구조사 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 중등 직업교육 변화와 개선에 대한 요구가 증가함에 따라 교육 혁신의 주체가 될 직업계고 교원의 직업교육 인식 및 요구를 조사 분석하여 직업교육 현장에 적용할 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 문헌분석을 하고 전문가 타당성 검토를 통한 직업교육 인식 및 요구에 대한 조사 도구를 개발하여 직업계고 교원 651명을 대상으로 설문하였다. 자료 분석은 빈도분석, 집단 간 차이 분석을 위한 교차분석(χ2 검정), 일원 배치 분산분석(ANOVA), 사후분석으로 Scheffee를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직업계고 교원은 직업교육에 대한 현실적 목적으로 취업과 진로를 동시에 추구하는 데 동의하며 중등 직업교육이 취업만을 목적으로 하지 않는 것으로 인식하였다. 중등 직업교육 운영에 대하여 부족하다는 평가를 하며 재직하고 있는 학교의 혁신적 변화를 위한 노력에 대하여 다소 긍정적으로 평가하였다. 둘째, 직업계고 교원들은 중등 직업교육의 혁신적 변화의 필요성에 긍정하며 ‘산･관･학 협력 활성화’를 통한 방안 및 ‘학생 중심의 교육과 학생이 오고 싶은 학교’로 직업계고 전환을 요구하였다. 셋째, 직업계고 교원들은 중등 직업교육 발전을 위하여 직무 전문성 향상 및 교수학습 혁신을 통한 수업 운영역량 강화를 희망하고 있었다. 아울러 교원의 사기 진작을 위하여 과중하게 부담된 업무부담 개선이 요구되었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 제언하면, ‘산･관･학 협력 활성화 방안’을 구체적으로 모색해야 하며 고졸 취업에 대한 정보와 자원 공유가 활발히 이루어질 수 있는 직업교육 플랫폼을 구축하고 혁신역량이 우수한 교원을 전문 컨설턴트로 양성하여 혁신역량을 확산해야 한다. 또한, 교원의 인식 및 요구를 반영하여 교육 방향을 설정해야 하되 학교와 구성원들이 함께 변화를 고민하고 실천할 수 있어야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the vocational education perceptions and needs of vocational high school teachers, who are the target of educational innovation as the need for change and improvement in secondary vocational education increases. The study aimed to derive implications that can be applied to vocational education. As a result, three main findings emerged. Firstly, vocational high school teachers agreed that pursuing both employment and career is a realistic goal of vocational education. The operation of secondary vocational education was evaluated as insufficient, but the efforts for innovative change in the school in which they work were evaluated somewhat positively. Secondly, teachers of vocational high schools confirmed the need for innovative changes in secondary vocational education and demanded measures through ‘industry-university-research cooperation’ and ‘student-centered schools that want to come’ through conversion to vocational high schools. Thirdly, for the development of secondary vocational education, vocational high school teachers hope to strengthen their class management capabilities through job expertise improvement and teaching-learning innovation. Additionally, the need to improve the excessive workload to boost teacher morale has emerged. Based on these research results, it is necessary to seek specific ways to activate industry-governmental cooperation and build a vocational education platform that can actively share information and resources for high school graduate employment. Teachers with outstanding innovation capabilities should be fostered as professional consultants to spread their innovation capabilities. The direction of education should be set by reflecting teachers' perceptions and needs, but schools and members should be able to contemplate and practice changes together.
