부부 갈등을 거리 두기로 표현해 온 40대 부부의 이마고부부상담 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 부부 갈등을 거리두기로 표현해 온 40대 부부를 대상으로 ‘이마고부부상담’을 적용, 실시한 사례연구로 부부의 과거의 상처를 이해하고 치유하는 경험을 통해 부부의 재연결 및 장기적 관계회복에 도움을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이마고부부상담(이마고부부대화법, 부모자녀대화법, 행동수정요청대화법)을 도구로 하여 상담회기에 따른 시간 계열 분석을 하였으며 사례연구 방법을 적용하였다. 상담기간은 2018년 5월 19일부터 9월 29일까지 총 10회기를 진행하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 부부갈등을 거리두기로 표현한 원인으로 부부는 문제에 대한 인식, 욕구 및 신념, 신체 접촉 욕구 등의 차이 및 원가족 내 어린 시절 상처가 나타났다. 남편과 아내 모두 발달단계 중 탐색기에 상처를 가진 부부로서, 남편은 ‘거리 두는 자’, 아내는 ‘추적자’로 이마고 짝임을 자각하게 되었다. 둘째, 부부는 그동안 표현하지 못했던 숨은 욕구를 새롭게 발견하였고 이에 대한 충족은 부부관계(이마고대화법)내에서 해결될 수 있음을 자각하였다. 셋째, 부부는 관계에 초점을 맞추어 준비된 부부대화를 습득함을 통해 부부갈등의 원인을 이해하고, 이를 통해 배우자에게 행동수정요청도 효과적으로 할 수 있게 되어 부부가 재연결되는 경험을 하게 되었다. 본 연구의 의의와 제언은 논의를 통해 제시되었다.

영문 초록

This paper presents a case study on a couple in their forties, who expressed their marital conflicts through distancing, based on the application and implementation of Imago Couple Counseling, which aims to help couples reconnect and restore their relationships in the long run through the experiences of understanding and healing each other s old wounds. Time series analysis was conducted over the counseling sessions with Imago Couple Counseling (Imago Dialogue, Parent & Child Dialogue, and Behavior Change Request Dialogue) with the case study method applied. A total of ten sessions were given from May 19~September 29, 2018. The findings were as follows: first, the husband and wife found the causes behind their expression of marital conflicts through distancing of their differences in the awareness of problems, desire and belief, and desire for physical contact and also their childhood wounds from their respective families of origin. Both the husband and wife had wounds inflicted on them at the exploration stage of development and realized that they made an Imago match with the husband as distant and the wife as tracer; secondly, the couple made a new discovery of their hidden desire that they were not able to express and realized that their desire could be fulfilled within their couple relations (Imago Dialogue); and finally, the couple learned to engage in a prepared couple conversation with a focus on their relationship and understood the causes of their marital conflicts, thus having experiences of being reconnected to each other based on an effective behavior change request from the other. Based on these findings, the study discusses its significance and proposals.
