유아교육에서의 구성주의 연구 동향 분석

본 연구는 2009년부터 2018년까지 학술지에 게재된 구성주의 유아교육 관련 논문 42편에 대해 출판연도, 연구대상, 연구유형, 연구주제 경향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 첫째, 구성주의 유아교육 관련 논문 출판 동향은 게재 비율이 연도별로 차이가 있으며 지난 10년간 점차 감소하는 추세에 있다. 둘째, 교사(예비교사, 유치원교사, 보육교사)를 대상으로 실시된 연구가 42.8%로 가장 많은 것으로 나타났으며 영유아를 대상으로 한 논문이 35.7%로 그 다음으로 많았으며 영유아의 여러 연령대 중 만 5세 유아가 대부분을 차지하였다. 셋째, 구성주의 유아교육 관련 논문의 연구유형은 양적 연구가 19편(45.2%), 질적 연구가 18편(42.8%)으로 비슷한 비율로 차지하고 있으며 프로그램 개발 및 적용에 해당하는 논문이 3편(7.1%)이었다. 넷째, 구성주의 유아교육 관련 논문의 연구주제에 대한 분석 결과는 교사교육과 전문성에 관한 연구논문이 33편(78.6%)으로 가장 많았고 교수-학습 활동에 해당하는 논문이 16편(38.1%), 유아발달에 관한 연구가 14편(33.3%)이었다. 선행연구와의 결과와 비교하며 최근의 유아교육 분야에서의 구성주의 연구 동향에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This review is a quantitative analysis of research on constructivism in early childhood education. The purpose of this study was to analyze the publication year, subject, type of research, and trend of research topics on 42 research studies related to constructivism in early childhood education published in the peer-reviewed journal from 2009 to 2018. The results of the analysis indicated four points. First, the rate of publication of research on constructivism in early childhood education differed year by year, and was decreasing gradually over the last decade. Second, 42.8% of the research subjects were teachers, 35.7% of them were young children. Five-year-old children accounted for the majority. Third, the research types of studies on constructivism in the early childhood education field accounted for 19 studies (45.2%) of quantitative research and 18 studies (42.8%) of qualitative research, and 3 research studies were related to program development and assessment. Fourth, the results of the analysis on the research topics of constructivism in early childhood education were 33(78.6%) research studies on teacher education and professionalism and 16(38.1%) research studies on teaching-learning activities. There were 14 studies (33.3%) on child development. The current trends in constructivism research in early childhood education were discussed in comparison with previous studies.
