철학실천적 관점에서 본 칸트 철학

국문 초록

일반적으로 칸트철학은 일상과 거의 관련 없는 고도로 추상적인 사변에관한 이론으로 여겨진다. 그러나 보통 사람들이 삶의 실천적 맥락에서 조우하기 마련인 시련이나 불행, 갈등 상황 등에 대한 조언을 기대하기 어려울 것이라는 선입견과 달리 칸트는 아카데믹한 철학 연구와 강의에 병행하여 철학실천가의 삶을 살았을 뿐만 아니라, 그의 철학 또한 철학실천에 도움을 줄 수 있는 다양하고 구체적인 논의를 포함하고 있다. 본 연구는 칸트철학의 몇몇 원전과 저작물, 강의 기록 등을 검토하여 칸트의 ‘철학함’의 활동에서 철학실천의 정체성 확립과 상담활동에 기여할 수 있는 자원을 추출해내고자 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 칸트의 ‘세계 개념’에따른 철학의 철학실천적 의도를 검토하고(II), 그가 정서 내지 정신적 장애 현상을 어떻게 철학적으로 접근했는지를 특히 우울증에 관한 입장을 중심으로 정리한다(III). 마지막으로 그의 철학함을 일관되게 규정한 이른바 ‘이중 트랙’의 철학활동이 지닌 철학실천적 의미를 해석하고, 후속 과제를 소개한다.

영문 초록

In general, Kantian philosophy is seen as an abstract theory that has almost no direct relation to everyday life and deals mainly with speculative problems. Unlike the prejudice that it would be difficult to find any advice on a series of difficult conflict situations in life, his philosophy contains concrete clues and arguments from which a philosophical counselor can get nourishment. Moreover, parallel to his academic research and teaching, Kant has, as it were, led the life of a philosophical practitioner. This study analyzes Kant’s writings, from which his doing philosophy (Philosophieren) can be re-organized. It also seeks to identify the resources that not only illuminate the identity problem of philosophical practice, but can also be applied to philosophical counseling. After clarifying the philosophy-practical goal of “philosophy according to the concept of the world”(II), it is understood how Kant dealt with the problem of so-called mental weaknesses or illnesses in his writings and lectures. Particular attention is paid to Kant s views on hypochondria(III). The final part of the thesis interprets the philosophical significance of the twin-track strategy of his philosophical activity―as an academic teacher and at the same time as a philosophical practitioner.
