표현예술치료로서 그림책 창작과정이 가지는 의미

국문 초록

본 연구는 그림책의 그림과 글의 치료적 특성과 관계에 대해 살펴봄으로써 그림책 창작과정이 가지는 표현 예술치료적 의미를 찾아보고자 한다. 문헌연구에서 살펴본 그림책의 특성과 존재론적 탐구를 토대로 한 연구자 의 그림책 창작과정은 예술이나 미적 경험이 현재에서의 적극적인 내면의 변화와 치유를 일어나게 한다는 점 에서 가치가 있다. 그림책 창작과정은 안정감을 주며, 자신과 감정에 대한 이해, 통합된 삶의 이야기 재구성관 점에서 그 의미를 찾을 수 있다. 그림책 창작과정에서 나타난 치료적인 요인은 세 가지 함의를 도출해낼 수 있 다. 첫째, 그림책 창작과정은 새로운 글과 새로운 그림의 해석을 창출하면서 상호중재한다. 둘째, 그림책 창작과 정은 무의식과 의식의 해석학적 순환과정을 통해 인간에 대한 이해와 성찰, 타자에 대한 이해를 창조적으로 연 결, 확장, 발달시켜주는 표현예술매체의 역할을 한다. 셋째, 그림책 창작과정은 타고난 본성을 신체언어와 접붙 이며 세상과 소통할 수 있는 체화의 과정을 가질 수 있게 해준다. 표현예술치료로서 그림책 창작과정은 내담자 뿐만 아니라 창작 작업을 하는 사람들과 예술심리치료사들에게 자기탐색과 이해, 개인적 창조성과 독창성, 자 율성을 높이고 타인과 소통하며 공감할 수 있는 전문적인 방법이라고 생각한다.

영문 초록

The goal of this study was to identify the meaning of expressive arts therapy by examining the therapeu tic characteristics and the relationship between image and text in a picture-book. In the literature research, t he characteristics of picture-books and ontological inquiry in the process of picture-book creation notably sh owed that art or aesthetic experience led to active internal changes and healing in the present. The process of creating a picture-book gave a sense of stability, and its meaning was found in terms of an understandin g of oneself and feelings, and a reconstruction of an integrated life story. Therapeutic factors in the process of picture-book creation led to three implications. First, the process of creating a picture-book had an effect while both creating new texts and interpreting new pictures. Second, the process of creating a picture-book played the role of an expressive arts medium that creatively connected, expanded, and developed reflection, and understanding of others through the hermeneutics cycle of unconsciousness and consciousness. Third, th e process of creating a picture-book created a process of embodying one’s inner nature by connecting it wit h the body language and communicating with the world. The process of creating a picture-book is not only benefits a client, but also creative workers by providing a professional way for arts therapists to enhance th eir self-discovery, understanding, individual creativity, originality, autonomy, and communication with others.
