북한 관련 뉴스 빅데이터를 활용한 언론 보도 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 언론의 이념적 성향의 차이가 나타나는 북한 관련 보도의 내용을파악하기 위해 문재인 정부와 윤석열 정부 출범 초기 빅카인즈(BIGKinds)의 뉴스 데이터에서 추출한 주요 키워드를 바탕으로 정량적인 분석을 시행하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 북한 관련 언론보도는 한․미․중․일 등 주변국과의 외교나 협력,주변국들의 대응에 관한 언급이 많았으며, 모든 언론사의 주요 의제로 설정되었다. 둘째, 문재인 정부 시기 보수신문은 미사일과 대북 제제, 진보신문은 한반도의 평화 등에 대한 언급이 많았다. 셋째, 윤석열 정부 출범 초기 보수신문은 미사일 발사 도발에 대한 강력한 대응, 진보신문은 한반도 평화를 위한 윤석열 대통령과 정부에 대한 적절한 대응을 언급한 것으로 파악되었다. 결과적으로 보수신문은 일관되게 대북제제와 도발에 대한 강력한 대응을, 진보신문은 한반도의평화를 위한 온건한 대응을 주문한 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구는 언론사의 정치적 지향점에 따라 각기 다른 입장으로 북한에 대한 인식을 유지하고 있는 것으로 파악되었으며, 언론사의 정치적 지향에 따라 달라지는 특정 이슈에 대한 인식이 다르다는 주장을 재차 확인하였다는 데 그 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

This study conducted a quantitative analysis based on key keywords extracted from news data from the Moon Jae-In government and BIGKinds in the early days of the Yoon Suk-yeol government's launch to understand the contents of North Korea-related reports that show differences in media. As a result of the study, First, media reports related to North Korea were often mentioned about diplomacy or cooperation with neighboring countries such as South Korea, the U.S., China, and Japan, and the response of neighboring countries, and were set as the main agenda of all media companies. Second, during the Moon Jae-In government, conservative newspapers mentioned missiles, sanctions against North Korea, and progressive newspapers mentioned a lot about peace on the Korean Peninsula. Third, it was found that the conservative newspaper in the early days of the Yoon Suk-yeol government mentioned a strong response to the missile launch provocation, and the progressive newspaper mentioned an appropriate response to the Yoon Suk-yeol president and the government for peace on the Korean Peninsula. As a result, it was found that the conservative newspaper consistently ordered a strong response to sanctions and provocations against North Korea, and the progressive newspaper ordered a moderate response to peace on the Korean Peninsula. This study was found to maintain the perception of North Korea from different positions according to the political orientation of the media, and it is meaningful to reaffirm the claim that the perception of specific issues that vary according to the political orientation of the media.
