고령층의 디지털 디바이드 현황 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 고령층을 대상으로 디지털 디바이드 현황을 파악하여 정보 격차의해소방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 한국지능정보사회진흥원의 ‘2021 디지털 정보격차 실태조사의 자료를 활용하여 고령층의 정보격차 문제를 실증분석하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고령층은 정보의 취약계층 디지털 정보격차가 크게 나타나고 있는 사실을 확인하였다. 정보에 대한 접근수준의 경우에는 차이가 거의 없는 것으로 나타났지만 정보역량 수준에서는 차이가 나는 것을알 수 있었다. 둘째, 고령층을 성별과 연령으로 집단을 구분하여 일상생활, 사회참여, 경제활동 측면에서의 디지털 디바이드를 살펴본 결과 여성보다는 남성이,연령이 낮을수록 정보의 접근이나 활용측면에서 높은 수준을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 디지털활용능력 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과 연령,성별, 가구의 평균소득 수준, 거주지역, 일상생활, 경제활동에서의 정보 접근이유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 가구 월평균소득, 디지털활용능력 수준, 일상생활, 경제활동으로 나타나 인구학적 특성을 비롯한 사회문화적 특성도 디지털활용능력 수준에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보아 고령층의 디지털 디바이드 해결을 위한 다각도의 정책 마련이 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 고령층의 디지털 디바이드 정책에 대한 방향과 해소방안을 위한 정책수립에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다. 본 연구는 고령층의 디지털 정보격차를 구체적으로 파악하여 고령층의 맞춤형 정책을 제안함으로써 고령층의 디지털소외를 해소하고자 하는 것이다. 본 연구의 의의는 코로나 19의 장기화와 4차산업혁명의 기술발전과 함께 정보기술이 일상화된 현 시점에 고령층의 정보 격차를 분석함으로써 바람직한 디지털 정보 교육프로그램 마련의 기회를 제공하고자 했다는 점이다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to identify the problems of the digital divide targeting the advanced aging and suggest ways to resolve the digital divide. For the study, the digital information gap problem of the advanced aging was empirically analyzed using the data of the ‘2021 Digital Information Divide Survey’ of the NIA, and the results are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the digital information gap between the information vulnerable and the advanced aging is large. In the case of the level of access to information, there was little difference, but it was found that there was a difference in the level of information competency. Second, as a result of examining the digital divide in terms of daily life, social participation, and economic activities by classifying the advanced aging into gender and age groups, it was found that males rather than females showed a higher level in terms of access to and utilization of information than females and younger age groups. Finally, it was found that there was a difference in the level of digital literacy among the advanced aging, and it was confirmed that this had an effect on life satisfaction. This study aims to identify the digital divide of the advanced aging and propose customized policies to them. In addition, it is hoped that it will be helpful in policy establishment as it aims to resolve the digital alienation of the elderly.
