영문 초록

With the improvement of living standards, the total amount of domestic organic waste resources generated has increased by 14.7% over the past 10 years. Although amount of biogas production has more than doubled over the past 10 years, energy conversion is still insufficient at 5.7% of the total amount of organic waste generated. As of 2021, 110 biogas plants of organic waste are in operation in Korea, and the government is continuously promoting the expansion of biogas plants. Most of the biogas plants are public facilities, and in terms of activation of the biogas industry, expansion of private facilities is required. In this study, the current status of the domestic biogas industry was analyzed and economic aspects including REC were reviewed to vitalize the domestic biogas industry. In addition, the biogas activation system of foreign countries such as Germany was reviewed, technical and institutional problems and obstacles of the domestic biogas industry were identified, and activation plans were presented.
