고지도의 지리정보 중첩 분석을 위한 “통합방안체계”의 연구

국문 초록

고지도의 방안체계는 18세기 후반 제작된 신경준의 <20리 방안지도>부터 『대동여지도』에 이르기까지 낱장, 책, 첩 등의 지도 제작 형식 및 종이 크기에 따라 방안의 크기와 표현 방법에 차이가 있을 뿐 그 계통은 계속 이어진다. 이에 착안하여 본 연구는 방안지도 내 지리정보의 상호 비교에 GIS 중첩 분석을 적용해보고자, 방안지도 간호환되는 절대 좌표 기반의 방안체계를 개발했다. 이를 위해 우선 방안지도 간의 방안 체계를 비교 분석하고, 각지도의 방안체계를 통합한 “통합방안체계”를 GIS로 구현하였다. 이 체계에 맞춰 각 고지도를 지오레퍼런싱하면, 지도의 제작 형식, 실제 크기와 무관하게 이종의 고지도 간의 지리정보 중첩 비교가 가능해진다. 또한, “통합방안체계”의 유용성을 검증하기 위해 고지도 5종(『조선지도』, 『해동여지도』, 『조선도』, 『청구도』, 『대동여지도』)를 대상으로읍치의 위치와 군현 경계를 중첩해 그 차이를 분석해 보았다. 명시적인 읍치의 이동과 경계의 변화·수정을 제외하고는 방안지도 내 지리정보의 거리 오차는 ±5리 안팎에 불과하다.

영문 초록

The grid system of the old maps differs in the size and scale of the cell according to paper size and the map production format of sheets, atlas, folders etc. There is a difference in the way of expression, but the lineage continues from Shin Kyung-joon's 20-ri grid map to Daedongyeojido. Based on this, this study developed a grid system based on absolute coordinates compatible with old maps in order to apply GIS overlap analysis to the mutual comparison of geographic information in grid maps. To this end, first, the grid system between the grid maps was compared and analyzed, and the "integrated coordinate system" that integrated the grid system of each map was implemented using GIS. By georeferencing each old map in accordance with this system, it becomes possible to compare geographic information overlapping between different types of old maps regardless of the map production format or paper size. In addition, in order to verify the usefulness of the “integrated coordinate system”, the differences were analyzed by overlapping the locations of administrative centers and boundaries on 5 types of old maps. Except for the explicit movements, changes and corrections of locations and boundaries, the distance error of geographic information in the grid map was only around ±5 ri(里) on "integrated coordinate system".
