자유학기제 및 자유학년제 진로체험활동에 참여한 중학생의 학습경험

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 자유학기제 및 자유학년제 진로체험활동에 참여한 중학생들의 학습경험을 밝히고자 하였다.방법 이를 위하여 자유학기제 및 자유학년제 진로체험활동에 참여한 중학생 18명을 대상으로 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였고 합의적 질적 연구방법을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다.결과 자유학기제 및 자유학년제 진로체험활동에 참여한 중학생의 학습경험은 7개의 영역, 10개의 범주, 22개의 하위범주, 66개의 핵심개념으로 추출되었다. 주요 범주를 중심으로 결과를 살펴보면 자유학기제 및 자유학년제 진로체험활동에 참여한 중학생의 학습경험에서 나타난 진로인식의 변화는 ‘진로와 일에 대한 새로운 자각이 생김’이었고 인지적 체험은 ‘직업정보와 미래사회변화에 대한 정보를 알게됨’과 ‘자신의 특성에 대해 이해함’으로 나타났다. 정서적 체험으로는 ‘재미와 의미가 있는 도전을 경험함’, ‘평가의 압력에서 벗어나 새로운 진로 학습경험을 함’이었다. 진로선택에 미친 영향은 ‘진로의사결정과정에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 구체적인 결정을 하게 됨’이었고 진로행동에 미친 영향은 ‘진로준비행동을 계획하고 실행에 옮김’으로 나타났다. 학습경험의 전이로는 ‘진로체험활동 경험이 확장됨’이 확인되었고 진로체험활동에 대한 바람은 ‘학생들의 관심사, 미래전망, 정보탐색의 접근성 등을 종합적으로 고려한 기획과 운영이 요구됨’, ‘인프라 확충과 성과 확인을 통해 효과적인 진로체험활동이 강화되기를 바람’인 것으로 나타났다.결론 첫째, 자유학기제 및 자유학년제의 진로체험활동에 참여한 중학생들은 진로문제에 대한 관심과 필요성을 자각하고 직업세계와 자기자신에 대한 인지적 체험을 통해 진로관련 정보를 탐색하고 이해했으며 진로선택 및 진로결정과 실행이라는 일련의 진로의사결정과정을 학습하고 체험했음이 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 자유학기제 및 자유학년제의 진로체험활동은 재미와 의미있는 활동으로 학생들이 평가의 압력에서 벗어나 진로를 찾는 새로운 학습경험이었으며 이러한 학습경험은 새로운 학습과 여가활동으로 확정되고 전이되었다는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 자유학기제 및 자유학년제 진로체험활동에 대한 보완점을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to reveal the learning experiences of middle school students who participated in career experience activities in the free semester and free school year system. Methods To this end, 18 middle school students who participated in free semester and free school career activities were interviewed by the focus group and analyzed the data using a consensual qualitative research method. Results As a result of the analysis, middle school students learning experiences participating in free semester and free school career activities were extracted into seven areas, 10 categories, 22 subcategories, and 66 core concepts. Looking at the results, focusing on major categories, the change in career awareness of middle school students who participated in free semester and free school career activities was “new awareness of career and work,” and cognitive experiences were “knowing job information and future social changes.” Emotional experiences included “experiencing challenges with fun and meaning” and “taking a new career learning experience free from the pressure of evaluation.” The impact on career choice was “making specific decisions based on an understanding of the career decision-making process,” and the impact on career behavior was “planning and implementing career-jun flight.” The transfer of learning experiences was confirmed as “career experience experience expanded,” and the desire for career experience activities was “required to plan and operate comprehensively considering students interests, future prospects, and accessibility to information exploration.” Conclusions First, middle school students who participated in career experience activities in the free semester and free school year were aware of the interest and necessity of career problems, explored and understood career information through cognitive experience in the world and themselves, and learned and experienced a series of career decision-making processes. Second, the career experience activities of the free semester system and the free school year system were fun and meaningful activities, and it was confirmed and transferred to new learning and leisure activities by students. Third, the complementary points for the career experience activities of the free semester system and the free school year system were identified.
