제주4.3사건에 대한 아나키즘적 해석

국문 초록

대륙에서 격절된 외딴 섬이라는 제주도의 지정학적 환경은 ‘작은 정부’ 와 ‘최소의 권력’이라는 아나키즘적 지향과 부합된다. 또한, 제주의 풍속과 신화, 민란과 유배문화가 아나키즘적 성향의 배양과 유관하며, 이 지역은 실 지로 활발한 아나키즘운동의 무대이기도 하였다. 그리고, 4.3사건의 양상이 폭력과 이념투쟁의 방향으로 치닫기 이천 인민위원회의 실질적 통치기간이 야말로 아나키즘적 이상사회의 가능성을 증거한다. 반면에, 4.3 봉기의 최후 수단이 극렬한 폭력행위였고 그 지도자들 중의 일부가 공산혁명의 음모에 협력했음은 이 사건에 대한 우리의 명쾌한 해석을 주저케 한다. 전시대에 위력을 발휘했던 강고한 국기주의의 한계가 드러나는 것이 이 시대의 흐름이다 인간역사 최대의 비극인 전쟁은 경직된 국기주의의 결과 였다. 세계화시대에 부응하기 위해서는 강력한 국가권력에 추종하기보다는 국가의 권위를 최소화하고 개인의 자유와 공동체적인 자율능력을 제고할 필요가 있다. 국가간의 경쟁보다는 국제적인 협력이 우선하는 세계평화, 강요 된 질서보디는 자율적인 공조와 공생이 우선하는 자치공동체를 추구함이 요청된다고 할 때, 아나키즘적인 요소를 다분히 갖고있는 4.3사건 발발의 역사 적 배정을 이해하고 평가하는 일은 의미있는 일이라 하겠다.

영문 초록

Jeju Island is supposed to be in accord with anarchistic inclinations such as small government and the minimal state power , as it is situated far from the mainland. In addition, custom and mythology of Jeju Island are characterized by anarchistic inclinations, whereas frequent riots and historic exile sites in this island are thought to be related with anarchistic tradition, It is no surprise that this island have not a few cases of anarchistic movements in its history. It is worthy of notice that people in this island showed precious proof of ideal anarchistic society when they were in wholehearted agreement with People’s Committee as a practical government of antonomous community before the breakout of Bolshevik terrorism of the April 3 Incident. Noticeably the Incident was motivated not by any lust for undeserved power or privilege, but by people s determined negation of unjust state power, We must be cautious about stout nationalism, because it may violate individual freedom and creative life, even by means of warlike violence. Hence the need for our regard of anarchistic autonomous community as an ideal protector from violent nationalism In the future, we must: build up a self-governing society of autonomous co-existence rather than enforced order of rigid regulation.
