대학생들의 노인에 대한 인식과 행동이 노후준비에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 대학생들의 노인에 대한 인식과 행동 및 노후준비와의 연관성 정도를 알아보고 대학생들의 노인에 대한 인식과 행동이 노후준비에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 목적을 위해 지방에 있는 대학생 400명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 조사 방법은 기술통계와 회귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구결과, 대학생들의 노인에 대한 정서적 인식과 행동적 인식은 모두 긍정적으로 전체 평균보다 높게 나타났다. 노인에 대한 행동은 전반적으로 부정적인 경향을 보였다. 신체적 노후준비는 정서적 인식과 행동이 유의미하게 나타났고, 경제적, 사회적 노후준비는 모두 노인에 대한 행동적 인식, 정서적 노후준비에서는 노인에 대한 행동적 인식과 노인에 대한 행동이 긍정적 유의함을 보여주었다. 대학생들이 노인에 대해 어떻게 인식하고 행동하는가는 그들이 초고령사회를 살아가는데 발생할 수 있는 노후문제를 대비한 노후준비와 관련이 있다. 따라서 노인에 대한 대학생들의 부정적 인식 해소와 긍정적 노인상을 제시해주기 위해서 교육과정의 교양 필수로 “노인과 노후의 이해”과목을 의무적으로 편성하고 노후에 적합한 일자리 프로그램 등의 정책적 접근과 함께 개인연금 등의 사적 연금 준비와 적정수준의 기초연금에 대한 정책연구가 필요하다. 또한 노인세대와 대학생들이 지역사회와 대학을 중심으로 상호 교류할 수 있는 방안들이 마련되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to analyze the degree of association and the effect between college students perception and behavior toward the elderly and the preparation for old age. For the purpose of the study, a survey was conducted on 400 college students located in provincial areas, and for the survey, technical statistics and regression analysis were used. According to the study, both the emotional and behavioral perceptions of the elderly among college students were positive, higher than the overall average. Behavior toward the elderly tended to be negative across the board. In the case of physical preparation for old age, emotional perception and behavior were significant. Both economic and social preparation for old age showed a positive significance for the behavioral perception toward the elderly. Emotional preparation for old age showed a positive significance for behavioral perception and behavior toward the elderly. How college students perceive and behave toward the elderly is related to their preparation for old age in regards to problems that may arise in a super-aging society. Therefore, in order to address the negative perception toward the elderly and to present a positive image of the elderly, it is mandatory to organize liberal arts classes such as Understanding the Elderly and Old Age as a compulsory course, and along with a policy approach to creating job programs suitable for old age, it is necessary to prepare private pensions and to conduct policy research on the appropriate level of basic pensions. In addition, measures should be devised to enable senior citizens and college students to interact with each other around the community and universities.
