국문 초록

웹소설은 전자문학의 한 형태로 디지털 시대의 대표적인 대중문학이다. 본 연구는 웹소설 중 현대 중국에서 대중 문학으로 부상한 중국 웹소설에 주목했다. 중국 웹소설은 문학 텍스트로 생산 및 소비되는 것은 물론, 나아가 TV 드라마, 게임, 영화 등 다양한 매체로 전환되면서 그 스토리월드를 확장하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중국 웹소설 중에서도 특히 선협(仙俠) 로맨스 웹소설에 주목했다. 선협 로맨스는 중국에만 존재하는 복합 장르로, 동아시아 고전 문학의 원형인 신선과 선계를 서사적 요소로 활용해 중국 특유의 환상성을 웹소설에서 재현하고 있다. 선협 로맨스 웹소설은 독자적으로 캐릭터성을 구축하는 등 인신연애류 전기소설을 현대적으로 변용하고, 대체가능세계로서의 선계를 재현한다. 또한 선협 로맨스 웹소설은 구술적 문자성을 기반으로 다양한 매체로 전환되고 있다. 디지털 매체 중 특히 TV 드라마로 양적, 질적으로 가장 많은 변환이 이뤄지고 있다. 그 외에도 게임, 애니메이션 등 다양하게 매체변환이 이뤄지는 추세이다. 이처럼 선협 로맨스 웹소설은 구술성 중심의 동아시아의 문화 원형을 토대로 디지털 패러다임에 부합하는 한편, 대중성을 확보할 수 있는 콘텐츠로 그 스토리월드를 확장하였다는 점에서 연구사적 의의가 있다. 나아가 이러한 연구의 결과는 한국 웹 콘텐츠의 발전 방향에도 시사하는 바가 크기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

Web novels implemented in a PC environment are representative popular literature of digital age as a form of electronic literature. This study take notice of Chinese web novel, which emerged as the popular literature of modern China. Chinese web novel is not only produced and consumed as novels, but it is adapted into various media such as TV drama, game and movie. Among Chinese web novels, this study aims to analyze Chinese Xianxia romance web novel’s crossmedia storytelling. Xianxia romance is a multi-genre that exists only in China. Also, it represents Chinese-specific fantasy by using Taoist hermit and the world of Taoist hermit as a narrative element. Based on these narrative elements, Xianxia romance web novel has developed its own character and represented the world of Taoist hermit. Also, Xianxia romance web novels are adapted into various digital media based on oral literacy. Among the digital mediea, Xianxia romance web novers are converting into TV dramas most quantatively and qualitatively. In addition, there are also various media conversion such as game and animation. Thus, it is significant that based on the cultural prototype of East Asia, Xianxia web novels conform to the digital paradigm. Also Xianxia web novels expand the storyworld into content which can get popularity. Furthermore, the result of this study also suggest the direction of development of Korean web content.
