국문 초록

‘디지털 리터러시’란 디지털 네트워크를 통해서 유통되는 다양한 정보의 신뢰도를 평가ㆍ판단하고 이를 취사·선택·편집·가공하여 자기에게 필요한 지식으로 전환하는 능력을 의미한다. 이러한 디지털 리터러시는 정보통신 기술의 급격한 발달과 최신 디지털 미디어 기기와 플랫폼의 다변화로 인해 더욱 강조되고 있다. 그러나 글쓰기 학습자들이 디지털 미디어를 사용하는 양상은 정보와 지식을 확인하고 옮겨오는 일차적 단계에 머물러 있다. 진정한 의미에서 ‘디지털 리터러시’의 활성화에 이르지 못함으로써, 결과적으로 주체적 글쓰기라는 확장으로 나아가지 못하고 있는 것이다. 따라서 본고에서 주목하는 ‘쓰기 윤리’의 도입과 의식의 함양은 그 자체로 비판적 사고와 주체적 글쓰기를 가능케 한다는 점에서 글쓰기의 확장으로 이끄는 하나의 원동력이 될 수 있다. 본고는 쓰기 윤리에 대해 일차적인 의미의 당위적 강조가 아닌 그것이 디지털 리터러시 글쓰기에서 불러일으키는 매개적 역할과 효과에 대해 주목하였다. 즉 디지털 리터러시를 글쓰기의 전(前) 단계로 활용함에 있어, 어떻게 그것을 글쓰기에서 요구하는 본질적 문제인 창조적 사고와 주체적 표현으로 유도할 것인가에 관한 문제의식에 대한 해답의 한 방편에 쓰기 윤리가 자리한다. 쓰기 윤리 교육과 학습은 디지털 정보에 대한 분별력을 높이는 효과를 가져오고 자연스럽게 비판적 사고와 주체적 글쓰기를 이끌어내며, 이는 다시 디지털 리터러시를 활성화하는 효과를 불러일으킴으로써 선순환의 구조를 만들어낸다.

영문 초록

‘Digital Literacy’ refers to a capability to evaluate and judge reliability of diverse information distributed through digital networks, and to change this to knowledge that is necessary to individuals by sorting out, selecting, editing, and processing. With the rapid development in information and communication technology and the diversification of digital media apparatus and platforms, this digital literacy is being more highlighted. But the use of digital medial among writing learners is still at its primary stage to check and transfer information and knowledge. As a result, the failure in invigoration of digital literacy in a very true sense is making it impossible to extend independent writing. The introduction and the cultivation of ‘writing ethics’ that this paper focuses on, can be a drive to extend writing, since it facilitates critical thinking and independent writing itself. This study pays attention to the mediating role of writing ethics and its effect on digital literacy writing, rather than putting essential emphasis on it in a primary sense. When it comes to using digital literacy as a previous step of writing, writing ethics is part of the solution for a critical mind on how to boost critical thinking and independent expression, which are fundamental issues in writing. Writing ethics education and learning enhance discernment of digital information, naturally leads to critical thinking and independent writing, and invigorates digital literacy again. Ultimately, a virtuous circle is formed in this way.
