여성들의 비혼 결정에 영향을 미치는 요인

국문 초록

이 연구는 경상북도에 거주하는 만 20세~ 39세에 속하는 미혼 여성들을 대상으로 비혼의향실태 및 비혼의향에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 규명하기 위하여 실시되었다. 자료수집은 2017년 5월 1일부터 7월 31일까지 3개월에 걸쳐 다단계집락표집에 의하여 표집된 300명에 대하여 면담원에 의한 직접조사로 이루어졌다. 자료수집후 최종적으로 277개 사례가 통계분석에 사용되었으며 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 응답자의 17.9%가 비혼의향이 있다고 응답하였으며 응답자의 33.0%만이 결혼에 대하여 긍정적인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이항로지스틱회귀 분석에 의하면 연령, 교육수준, 가구형태, 월평균소득, 취업유무 등은 미혼여성의 비혼의향에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 반면, 결혼필요성과 자녀에 대한 가치관 등은 비혼 의향에 통계적으로 유의미한 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과로 미루어 보아 결혼율 상승을 통하여 출산율을 높이기 위해서는 미혼 여성들이 결혼에 대하여 우호적인 태도로 전환할 수 있는 사회·문화적 환경을 만들어 가는 필요하다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study are to describe single women s willingness against marriage and explore factors influencing willingness against marriage. Originally 300 subjects were chosen by multi-stage cluster sampling among single women aged from 20 and 39 residing in Gyungbuk area and face-to face interviews were conducted from May 1st to July 31st in 2017. 277 subjects were collected and used for the final statistical analysis. The findings of this study are as follows: 17.9% of the respondents are unwilling to marry in the future and only 33.0% of them are positive for the marriage. According to the logistic regression analysis, demographic and socio-economic variables, such as age, educational attainment, type of household, average monthly income, and employment do have statistically significant impacts on the single women s willingness against marriage. On the other hand, necessity of marriage and the positive value for the children show statistically significant influence single women s willingness against marriage. Therefore, for the increase of marriage rate, it is necessary to introduce and set up socio-cultural environment so that the single women may change their attitude toward marriage. Finally policy implications are introduced and discussed for the increase of marital rate and fertility.
