국문 초록

이 논문에서는 평거동유적의 발굴성과가 기존 편년안의 부족한 부분을 보충할 것으로 판단하고, 기존의 편년을 보완 할 수 있는 새로운 편년안을 제시하고자 하였다. 나아가 이러한 편년안을 바탕으로 전 ·중기의 전환 과정과 중기토기의 전개과정을 파악하고자 하였다. 중기토기에서 문양구성, 문양형태, 기형이라는 속성을 추출하여 편년의 근거로 활용하였으며, 기존의 편년과 차이점은 집선계문양을 세분한 점과 지역구분으로써의 유형 이란 개념을 사용해 편년을 시도한 점이다. 그 결과 유형은 평거동유형, 동삼동유형, 갈머리유형등 총 3가지로 설정하였고, 유형별로 편년을 시도하였다. 그 후 문양구성의 차이, 문양 전체의 양상, 특정 문양의 유무, 기형을 고려하여 병행 관계를 파악해 수가리1식 토기의 전체적인 편년(단계설정)을 시도하였다. 중기토기의 성립과 전개과정을 파악하기 위해서 영선동식토기를 외부요소와 재지요소로 나누어 이 글에서 가장 이르게 편년한 평거동1단계와 비교하였다. 그 결과 수가리1식의 중 ·대형 토기도 전환기의 연속성을 가지는 것으로 파악하였으며, 외부집단의 이주와 같이 갑자기 출현한 것이 아니라는 결론에 이르렀다. 또한 점차 수가리1식 토기가 완성되어가는 과정도 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This paper shows a new chronological sequence in the middle Neolithic period and includes newly published data. Furthermore, it determines the relationship between First and Middle Phase pottery. Then, it identifies a complex pattern, the pattern form and composition in detail of Middle Phase pottery; Sugari style. In chapter Ⅲ, the category is based on the attributes that correlate with First Phase pottery by extracting Middle Phase pottery attributes. The category is divided into regions. In this paper, it separates Pyeonggeo-dong, Dongsam-dong, and Galmeori. Chapter IV demonstrates the change over time of the category that is classified in chapter III. It makes each stage based on this demonstration. In addition, it identifies the concurrent relationship considering the differences of the order of designs, patterning on the entire surface, as well as the existence of specific pattern and shape. Chapter Ⅴ compares First Phase pottery and Pyeonggeo-dong 1, the earliest pottery in the middle Neolithic period, in this paper. First Phase pottery is compared by dividing outside elements and inside elements. On the contrary, it is determined that Pyeonggeo-dong 1 pottery includes both elements. Therefore, in the formative period of Middle phase pottery, Pyeonggeo-dong 1, has a transitional character which has both elements. In the next stage, the elements, which are showed in the establishment period, are adopted selectively. Thus, the selective adoption process is one example of localization of Midwest pottery. After the developing process, Middle Phase pottery gradually spread widely during the period of its greatest popularity. In the period of its greatest popularity, it shows small regionality throughout the south region. In the period of decline, it is similar with the early latter part. As a result, this study analyzes triangle pattern and square-shaped pattern in a systematic way more than previous research. Through this paper, the study identifies chronological sequence of the entire south region. Also it explains the transition period of the first and the middle phase well and Middle phase pottery development process as well. Especially, Middle Phase pottery 1 appears not suddenly with migration but gradually based on its development by local culture. In addition, First Phase pottery has mixed outside elements.
