국문 초록

역사가 개인에게 어떻게 수용되는지를 알아보기 위해 학생들에게 자신을 변화시킨 역사적 사건을 선정하도록 하였다. 이를 통해 학생 개인인 ‘나’를 중심으로 역사를 어떻게 수용하는지 알아보았다. 학생들은 개인적으로 역사를 통해 진로나 학업, 교우관계, 성격 등과 관련된 교훈을 얻으려고 하였다. 그러나 개인적인 교훈보다 국가사회적인 근거를 들어 사건을 선정하였는데, 주로 민주주의 가치나 애국심을 많이 언급하였다. 학생들이 사회나 국가에 관심을 갖는다는 것은 바람직하나 거시적인 국가나 민족담론을 지극히 개인적인 학업이나 진로와 단순히 연결을 지으려는 모습이 보였다. 여기에서 벗어나기 위해서 역사교육은 학생들이 공동체 속에서 여러 사람들을 만나 이들과 함께 국가를 인식하는 지점으로 나갈 수 있게 도와주어야 한다.

영문 초록

This paper was written to find out students’ understanding about historical facts and figures that make change them. The results are as follows. Students tried to obtain the lesson about the way of study, career, friendship and character through the historical facts and figures. And they wanted to hold the idea of democracy, patriotic spirit. It was desirable to move toward national values. But they had a disposition to connect personal events and situations with macroscopic national history. The good history education should help students to escape these responses. Students should try to take part in community. Also they should put into practices their faith of democracy.
