국문 초록

雪峯 姜栢年이 살다간 17세기 조선문단은 唐風의 시대였다. 설봉은 당풍의 4기에 해당하는 인물이고 詩話에서도 그 능력을 인정받았지만 이제까지 학계에서 온당한 주목을 받지 못하였다. 설봉의 시는 기존의 시화서에서 주목받았던 당풍의 시만이 아니라 송풍의 면모를 지닌 시도 다수 창작하였다. 따라서 설봉의 시는 당풍과 송풍 두 가지로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 설봉의 당풍시 창작은 당대의 문학적 경향과 아울러 唐詩에 침잠하였던 아버지 죽창 강주의 영향도 무시할 수 없다. 설봉은 唐詩 가운데 杜詩를 지향하여 두시를 차운하거나 그 詩句를 활용한 集句詩를 창작하기도 하였다. 특히 1641년 월과에서 장원을 한 〈次杜工部九日藍田崔氏莊〉의 경우 설봉의 두시 이해와 당풍의 창작 능력을 입증해 주는 좋은 작품이다. 설봉의 당풍시는 淸健한 풍격을 지니고 있다. ‘淸’이 當代 당풍시의 공동적인 풍격이라면 ‘健’은 설봉의 개성적인 특징을 보여주는 부분이라고 할 수 있다. 동명 정두경이 당풍의 문제로 지적한 유약함에서 벗어나 은자를 소재로 한 시들에서도 굳건한 의지 내지 건실함이 담겨져 있다. 설봉의 송풍시는 ‘逍遙遊’를 추구하며 외물의 차이에 얽매이지 말 것을 주장한다. 설봉은 장자의 ‘소요유’를 儒家의 사유와 접목시키고 초월에 앞서 자아의 성찰과 수양의 필요성을 강조한다. 이러한 전제 아래 장자의 사유를 시적 도구로 활용한다. 다만 현실이 이상을 반영하지 못하였을 때 장자의 초월적 사유에 더 관심을 드러내기도 하였다. 설봉은 또한 송풍의 시를 통하여 끊임없는 자아 성찰과 수양을 하였고 독직 사건에 연루되었던 아버지의 어두운 그림자에서 벗어나 청백리의 명성을 쌓을 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The Joseon literary circles in the 17th century when Seol-bong, Kang, Baek-nyeon(hereinafter, Seolbong) ended his life belonged to the Dang traits(唐風) era. Seolbong was a figure placed on the 4th period of Dang traits. He was acknowledged for his ability even in Sihwa(a discourse on poetic literature), but Seolbong hasn’t been received his proper attention from academic circles up until now. Seolbong’s poetry includes not only the poems of Dang traits which received attention in the existing book of discourses on poetic literature ,but it also created a multitude of poems of Sung traits(宋風) Accordingly, Seolbong’s poetry can be examined by dividing it into Dang traits and Sung traits. In Seolbong’s creative works on Dang traits poetry, we cannot ignore the influence of Seolbong’s father, Jukchang(竹窓) Kang, Ju(姜籒) who was immersed in the literary trends at that time and poetry in Tang state. Seolbong borrowed the poetic cadence of Du Fu(杜甫)’s poetry while aiming for Du Fu’s poetry among the poems in Tang(唐) state, or created the poems of the collected wording by using Du Fu’s poetic lines. Seolbong’s Dang traits poetry assumes a Cheong(淸) & Keon(健) appearance. If ‘Cheong(淸)’ can be called a common appearance of Dang traits poetry at that time, then, ‘Keon(健)’ is a part showing Seolbong’s individual characteristic. Coming out of the vulnerability which was pointed out as the problem of Dang traits by Dongmyeong, Jeong, Du-kyung, Seolbong’s Dang traits poetry contains an iron will and steadiness even in the poetry by basing its subject matter on a recluse. Seolbong’s Sung traits poetry was in pursuit of ‘Soyoyu(逍遙遊)’ which wasn’t entangled by the difference in outward things. Seolbong integrated Chuang-tzu’s ‘Soyoyu(逍遙遊)’ with the thinking of Confucianism, and emphasized the necessity of introspection and self-discipline before doing transcendence. Under the premise like this, Seolbong used Chuang-tzu’s thinking as a poetic tool. Nevertheless, in case reality failed to reflect lofty ideals, Seolbong sometimes exposed his concern more for Chuang-tzu’s transcendental thinking. In addition, Seolbong did introspection and self-discipline endlessly through Sung traits poetry, and was able to build up the fame as an uncorrupted government official by detaching himself from the dark shadow of his father who was once implicated in a bribery case.
