실직자의 심리가 저축과 소비에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

국문 초록

  현재도 지속되고 있는 고용불안은 장기간 소비감소와 투자 감소로 이어져 경제의 불황이라는 악순환으로 이어질 수 있기 때문에 문제가 더욱 심각한 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 고용불안의 영향이 저축과 소비에 어떠한 영향을 주고 있는지를 설문조사를 통하여 살펴보고 그에 따른 대응방안을 마련하고자 한다.
  실직자들에게 설문조사를 한 결과 실직자들은 실직을 당하고 나면 그 후유증이 오래 가서 재취업을 한다고 하더라도 실직에 대한 두려움으로 예전처럼 소비를 하지 않고 저축에 더 많은 관심을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 소득이 증가하면 소비도 비례적으로 증가하지만 소득이 감소하면 소비는 비례적으로 하락하지 않고 완만하게 감소한다는 톱니바퀴의 이론과는 차이가 있다. 다만 소비도 장기적인 소득의 영향을 받는다는 프리드만의 항상소득가설과는 대체로 일치하였다.
  저축에 관해서도 소득이 증가하면 저축이 증가한다는 이론은 맞지만 저축에 영향을 주는 것은 소득이나 이자 등의 변수뿐만 아니라 그 밖에 사람들 즉 실직자의 심리도 저축에 상당한 영향을 준다는 것을 설문조사를 통해 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 실직자가 재취업을 하더라도 실직에 대한 두려움으로 인해 소비보다는 저축을 더 많이 생각하는 것으로 분석되어진다.
  따라서 실직자들이나 비정규직 더 나아가 현재 직업을 갖고 있는 직장인에게도 실직에 대한 두려움을 해소시킬 수 있는 방안과 장기적인 소득증대방안을 강구하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

  Since the unstable employment which is still going on may lead to the vicious cycle of economic depression by causing long-term reduction of consumption and investment, the problem is more serious. Thus, checking the cause for such unstable employment, this dissertation intends to prepare the relevant program by surveying how unstable employment affects saving and consumption through questionnaire. Checking the unemployed through questionnaire, it was found that they do not consume as they did in the past even after reemployment because of the aftereffect and become more interested in saving for fear of unemployment in the future. Thus, it is somewhat different from the theory of gear which means that though consumption increases proportionally with the increased income, consumption does not reduce proportionally but gradually with the decreased income.
  When it comes to saving, the theory that increased income results in increased saving, but the questionnaire showed that saving is affected by not only variables such as income or interest, but other factor such as mentality of the unemployed.
  This result suggests that though the unemployed is reemployed, they are more interested in saving as preparation for the uncertain future because they are not confident with their future for fear of unemployment.
  The more important problem is that the irregular workers among the company employees are preoccupied with anxiety that they may be unemployed someday, thereby reducing the sound consumption. Thus, it is required to prepare measure in order to dispel the fear of unemployment from the unemployed, irregular workers and the company employees who are currently employed.
