  Recently, TETE (Teaching English through English) has been encouraged in all levels of English education to provide students with increased opportunities to interact in an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) environment. Before the number of TETE classes can be increased nationwide, present English classrooms need to be examined thoroughly, not only from the perspectives of teachers but also from the perspectives of students. The rationale of TETE needs to be analyzed theoretically and pedagogically in terms of Korea’s unique educational EFL environment. In this study, the university students’ perceptions are examined in terms of their general opinions and personal preference toward TETE. This research further investigates the relationship between the length of time studying in TETE programs and present student performance. This includes TETE experiences in the past and present attitudes toward TETE. The result of this study reveals that there is no significant relationship between the length of TETE and present performance. It also demonstrates that there is a positive correlation between the amount of interest in TETE classes in the past and preference for TETE in the present.
