영문 초록

This study attempts to explore the problems appeared on the futures trading of non-ferrous metals and to establish new plan to vitalize futures trading in Korea. The stable availability and supply of raw materials is vital to the enhancement of price competitiveness from overseas and domestic price stability. Such being the case, our firms need to take part in non-ferrous metals futures market(LME and COMEX) for their stable economic activities and resonable management. Furthermore, the vulnerable cost structure of our firms can be improved from direct and aggressive participation of overseas futures markets. The government also should enact new laws and arrange established articles. Simultaneously, the firms themselves ought to make good use of the concerned rules. Then, it is possible to overcome the uncertainty of price fluctuation and cope with external and internal changes of economic environment positively. At any rate, to prevent the fluctuation of prices and to accomplish the stable security of raw materials, all companies dealing with nonferrous metals have to recongnize the importance of the futures trading.
